Find your style! Don’t have a clue what your style is? Ok here’s an easy fix. Go through magazines and home store catalogs and tear out anything you like. Tear out anything from furniture, wall color, architecture, or even a lamp or vase. Now, compile them all in a binder and separate them according to room, style, color, accessories, or make up your own categories. I named my collection the"Home Portfolio". Doesn't that make it sound important? Once you’ve got a nice collection, sit down and go through them and look for similarities. I learned that I really like 1920’s architecture. When the time came to tear out a wall in our house, I knew exactly what style of column I wanted. Instead of a painstakingly slow decision, I already knew what worked for me!
