Refried Beans

1 tsp. oil
½ small onion, chopped finely
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp. cumin
¼ tsp salt
1 (15 oz) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
½ cup tomato sauce
dash of cayenne (optional)

In a saucepan, sauté onion in oil over medium heat until translucent. Add garlic cumin and salt. Sauté for another minute. Add a bit of water if it becomes too dry. Add the beans and mash. Add tomato sauce and mix well. Cook till heated through and thin with water if needed.
